Located on the scenic downtown waterfront, the Vancouver Convention Centre is a world-class facility known for hosting major events throughout the year. Built in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics, its iconic modern glass structure sits beside Canada Place and offers some of the city’s best waterfront views.
Vancouver Convention Centre
Major annual events at the Convention Centre include the Vancouver International Wine Festival, Vancouver Auto Show, TED Conference, Art Vancouver, Circle Craft Market, FAN Expo Vancouver, and Everything Electric Canada. The NACAC University Fair is held at the centre in the spring, while the Vancouver Christmas Market takes place just outside in Jack Poole Plaza during the winter holiday season.
Venue Features and Surroundings
The Vancouver Convention Centre features more than 66,000 square feet of flexible event space. It also boasts a six-acre green roof — one of the largest of its kind in Canada. The surrounding waterfront promenade connects seamlessly to the Coal Harbour Seawall and world-famous Stanley Park, making it a favourite spot for walking and cycling.
Outside the west side of the building stands the Vancouver Olympic Cauldron, a lasting legacy from the 2010 Olympics. Nearby you’ll find the Harbour Air Seaplanes terminal with flights to Victoria and other destinations, as well as stops for Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing buses.
